Adoption credit

We adopted 2 special needs kids in 2023 and I didn't do the adoption credit correctly when I did our taxes. I just completed an amendment and TT is saying that we are owed a refund now for last year and that we have about 5k to carry over for 2024. Are correct in thinking we are now going to receive this new refund for 2023?

Adoption credit

Yes. Any refund that you should receive after amending your return will show on form 1040X line 21.
