You can't cancel a return once you file it. You will have to wait and see if the IRS processes it. If you receive a refund that you are not entitled to, you will then have to file another amended return to correct it. If you owed money as a result of the amended return, wait until you get a notice requesting your payment from the IRS and then file another amended return to correct it.

How did you submit it again?  Did you mail it?  Because so far this year you can't efile prior year returns.   Did the Desktop program let you?   Maybe it's still showing accepted for the first amended return.

See this FAQ on how to amend 2020.   Step 3 says you have to paper mail prior year returns.  So it probably wasn't submitted.

I had it open in my desktop I was trying to get the AGI from last return to file my current tax return. I went to the end y pressed the submission bottom and it said the return has been accepted, maybe is because it was already accepted the first time I submitted?

step #3 is this for this current return 2021?, I am asking because last year I e-file my 2020 amended return using turbo tax and when I go to where is my refund in the IRS page it says it was received but it not  processed yet.

Accidently submitted my 2020 amended return that I had submitted before electronically, what can I do to stop it?

Probably.  I wouldn't worry about it.   What's it say under

File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status

And you would probably get an email saying if it was Accepted.  Did you get emails back the first time?

when did you do this because it's not supposed to be possible to file an amended 2020 electronically using Turbotax.  perhaps it will be rejected.

I did it using turbo tax  2020 version and I got 2 emails from turbo tax one saying it was submitted and another one saying it was accepted. When I go to IRS page to the link where is my amended return it shows it and the status is accepted but not processed yet, do you think I should send it in paper? It's been more than 5 months of this submission.
