TurboTax and WheresMyRefund are giving me different answers.

Looking on TurboTax, this is what they're stating about my process.

"Federal Return

Received by TurboTax
Tuesday, Jan 23rd 2018 11:59 AM EST
Received by IRS
Tuesday, Jan 23rd 2018 12:20 PM EST
Filing status changed to: Accepted
Tuesday, Jan 23rd 2018 12:40 PM EST"

However on the IRS WheresMyRefund tool, I only see that it is on the first step as being processed. What should I expect?

Accepted Solutions

TurboTax and WheresMyRefund are giving me different answers.

Accepted just means it has been received by the IRS.  Then it must go through a Processing stage.  Next the refund would be in the Approved stage and finally the refund would be Sent.

Turbo Tax only gives you an estimated date. The IRS usually pays most refunds within 21 days. But these are not normal times. This year is taking the IRS longer to send the refunds. There are millions more people filing returns to get the Stimulus payment.
