A 16-year-old dependent got deleted from my return. Not sure what to do ? they also reduced my return by $2000 for it, I think

This usually means your dependent was already claimed on another tax return, either another parent or your dependent filed their own tax return and did not note they could be claimed as a dependent on another return. The reduction would likely relate to any Child Tax Credit or Recovery Rebate Credit you were claiming for the dependent.

If this is the case you will receive a notice from the IRS.
