If I made $29,000 and $3,300 was withheld, why is TurboTax telling me I owe over $20,000 in taxes???

99.9% of the time, a huge number like that is a mis-entered income value,

like maybe double-keyed number (229,000)  or decimal point one digit off.

Go back to the Federal income  section and review and edit every income entry you made...one of them is waaaay too high.
