$31 dollar credit for a 401k contribution of $300 It will not give me the option of deleting it, forcing me to pay $59 for the deluxe edition for a $31 dollar credit!!!

If you are a full-time student, you are disqualified from the credit.  Search for saver's credit (exactly like that) and use the link to go to this section.  The student status won't affect anything else on your tax return, so if you prefer not to take the credit, you can indicate student status in this section which will disallow the credit and you won't need to upgrade.   Why do I have to upgrade to Deluxe? - I wanted the Free Edition!
