2025 Turbotax Desktop. Went to Import data from ML. Browser popped up login request from ML and they verified me. Got screen to select accounts, they are all there. Confirmed selection and then confirmed request to permit ML to share the information. Get screen showing arrows to and from TT and ML after about a minute I get a screen say unable to connect. Contacted ML support and they say the error is on Intuit's side.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
I tried it using Chrome after Firfox failed. I had never used chrome to access turbo tax site before so there should have not been any caching issue. I'm coming in through Spectrum Internet and its desktop version of Turbotax. I've move on entering items manually after 2nd browser failure.
Just to confirm. Solution offered did not solve the problem. Is it possible that TT thinks I'm also using the online version? I had to switch to a new computer (thanks Micro$oft) so I couldn't get in on my 2024 desktop verion and may have started an online account.
When the Chrome browser window opens for you to Sign In to your Merrill account, click the icon in front of the URL address. From the pop-up, choose 'Site Settings' and scroll down to 'Local Network' and choose 'Allow'.
Before the days imports became available, a Category Summary Total was entered in a tax return. Here's How to Enter a Summary in Lieu of Individual Transactions.
