2022 Fed Tax Rejected ACH ?

After completing my 2022 Fed & State I received a Rejection notice. I used e-file on both and setup a scheduled payment using direct payment (ACH) for Tuesday 17, 2023 in the amount of $ 479.00 and $135.00 for the state. After correcting my Fed & State tax I needed to pay $722.00 and the $135.00 for the state. I went ahead and e-filed and paid using the same method. Question, will the funds be auto corrected, or will I be double charged and have to request a stop payment or refund for the error? Both Tax returns were excepted the second time. I will be monitoring my bank account for the amounts. Please advise on what you know. Thank you.

If your tax return gets rejected, nothing gets processed. Once you fix and resubmit your tax return, the information on the corrected return is what is completed and submitted to the IRS and State.
