2020 Home and Business not importing 2019 Home and Business Data.

Simple problem, I can't find answer to. Filed Turbotax2019 Home and Business (and 3 years prior for that matter). 2020 Home and Business will NOT import all my business history from 2019 ??  All the screens are blank.

Any ideas where to start?  I click on import previous year's data before doing anything else. I also have the pdf version but have never had a problem importing last years information before this one.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Here's an idea. Do you still have 2019 installed? Try opening 2019 program and see if you can get your 2019 return to show up in it. Go to FILE - OPEN. And see if that is the right one.

In the 2019 program do a File-Save AS and give it a easy name you can find or search for. And note where it saves it or select where to save it so you can find it again. The file will end in .tax2019. Then close the 2019 program. Then start a new 2020 return and transfer from the 2019 file.

Are you on Windows 10? That can move files to different spots like to One Drive. Or to Drop Box. Could it be under a different user on your computer?

Also if you can open your 2019 return in the 2019 Program then look and see if you marked the business as FINAL, then it wouldn't transfer over.  You can change that and save 2019.  Then transfer from 20i19 again.

THANK YOU !!!   Resaving the file to a different filename and reimporting worked !  (I will not question how or why this works, and the original file name does not haha)

I have to renter all the data I previously had entered on this new file, but that is FINE compared to the alternative.
