2020 CARES act charity deduction in Turbotax
I understand that a maximum $600 deduction is allowed for a joint return even if non-itemized for 2020. I entered my charity donation (cash) using the step by step process. It exceeds $600.
Seems to me that Turbotax should have transferred that number (600) to line 10b of form 1040. It's blank. My donations do appear in the Charitable Organizations Worksheet. Why isn't it in 1040?

The maximum is $300 if filing jointly for 2020. It is $600 on your 2021 return.

2020 CARES act charity deduction in Turbotax
Thanks. So I manually entered 300 on the line 10b of the 1040 Wks and it properly transferred over to the 1040.
I'm surprised that I had to do that. I would have expected TT to handle that automatically, given that I had entered my charity donation.
