On what? A W2? Exactly what does it show? Do you have any amounts?
W2 Box 12a - 12d are just the box numbers. They don't have to be filled in. But if they have a Code (1 or 2 capital letters) and amount you need to enter it. Don't confuse the lowercase letters a-d with the uppercase Codes A, B, C, D, DD, etc. The lowercase a-d are just part of the box label. You don't enter them. You can enter the Code and Amount in any box 12.
It’s on a w-2 and under 12d it says “List ID 22188” with no codes just the number when I automatically went to upload the document through photos it filled out the portion under the code D with the numbers being the dollar amount. I just want to make sure I’m filling this out right because when I go to complete it says there’s and overpaid amount and to contact the institution.
Ask the employer for an explanation ... review the actual W-2 ... it is possible that a box 14 item was incorrectly imported into the program.
22188.....the 22 might refer to the year. But I would delete that W2 and enter it manually. If that part is wrong then other amounts might have loaded wrong too.
Yeah thanks everyone I’m assuming they entered box 14 in the wrong location since there are no codes this was most likely misc info for the irs. I will contact the institution.
