Hey all. This is my first time posting here, so I hope I am posting to the correct group. I have the desktop version of Turbo Tax. I am working on 1099-R forms. One form that was downloaded from my bank is for me related to the death of my father. When I go into the information in the program, it shows my spouses name, even though i selected my name at the beginning where it asks who the form is for. I don't recall having this issue in prior years with this program. Any idea how to fix this, or is it anything I need to worry about?
Thank you for your help! Dave

Yes, you can indicate who the 1099-R belongs to in that section. Go to Income > Retirement Plans and Social Security > IRA, 401K, Pension Plans and choose Update.
On the page 'Your 1099-R Entries' choose EDIT.
The next screen says 'Verify the Owner of this 1099-R' so you can change it to your name here.
It is best to have the correct info for your 1099's, since the IRS has a copy.
Thank you for your help! That worked! Weird though as when I first went into that particular item, I did select the correct name, but it didn't take. Guess I needed to completely get out of that section and go back into it?
Thank you again for your help!
