I have been unable to import my 1099-B from Schwab. I keep getting a message stating: we couldn't auto-fill your return. I have tried importing directly by connecting to Schwab from TurboTax premium, importing the PDF file and also splitting the PDF file in case there is a file size limitation. Nothing has worked so far. Looks like some Fidelity customers are running into the same issue per this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/fidelityinvestments/comments/1r31ics/turbo_tax_we_couldnt_autofill_your_ret...

I tried yesterday and mine seemed to work. I didn't use the PDF at all. I used the import section of TurboTax to specify Schwab, which opened a window to log in to Schwab. I had to do the secondary verification as usual. Then it looked like it was communicating with TurboTax. Maybe the site was overloaded of something. I'd try again until it works.
Thanks for stating your experience. How many transactions did you have on your 1099-B. I have a lot which could be the issue here.
Not that many sales (about 4 mutual funds), but since we changed the holding method to actual cost (rather than average) the couple of sales had many, many individual lots shown. So the pdf of the tax statement was 28 pages long.
I definitely didn't want to try to manually enter the data. However long it was going to take to get the import to work, I was willing to wait.
I tried repeatedly with Windows Edge running Windows 11. Loaded up Firefox and made it the default browser and it worked immediately. I tried over 20 times with edge . Something in the settings in blocking but I am not sure what it is. I also have the VPN TURNED OFF.
If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.
To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:
If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:

I have the same issue. It repeatably shows the same message. I tried in Edge and I also tried from Google Chrom and I get the same message. Anything else that could work?
Some have received a message from Charles Schwab saying downloads would be enabled on Feb 27th.
Same Issue - Import from Schwab hangs up after allowing 3rd party access on Schwab. Current page is titled "Let's Get Your Forms". I click OK but nothing happens. Pop-Up blocker off. VPN Off. Cookies and History cleared. Chrome Browser. Turbo Tax is sitting and waiting for downloaded 1099 to import. Spoke with Schwab. Suggested that file size might be an issue in Turbo Tax or that due to the number of transactions there could be a delay in "processing" my file prior to download. My consolidated 1099 is 345 pages and 2.356 mb. So far I waited 30 minutes after hitting OK and still no movement forward, no errors, no po-ups, no timeouts, no nothing. Please help.
Since the IRS already has copies of all your 1099's, using the Summary Method to report category totals on your tax return is perfectly acceptable.
Here's detailed info on How to Enter a Summary in Lieu of Individual Transactions.
Hi : I cant search for schwab under financial institution, I try for a week now.
Having the same issue here. And if I go to documents the 1099-B is there, but if I click on the link it's just a blank screen.
Thank You, It's nice to know that there is a workaround but it would be much nicer if it worked properly. I don't have anywhere near as many transactions as the stated limit. My 1099 has been available for download from Schwab all week and I have a softcopy saved on my desktop. I'll wait until after Feb 27th, the original date stated by Schwab as the available date, and see if the download to Turbo Tax works. If not, I'll try the alternative "Total Proceeds and Cost Basis" and hope for the best. The object here is to avoid attention / audits and by not providing all of the required information it seems like I'm providing the IRS with a huge red flag....
I am now able to download my 1099 into Turbo Tax. Issue appears to have been resolved.
