How do I use the Topic List?

The Topic List is an outline of the TurboTax Step-by-Step interview and can be used to quickly navigate to a particular area in the program. Simply click the section you want to go to and we'll take you there.

  • Red checkmarks indicate that you have already visited those sections. Of course, you may revisit them as many times as you want.
  • Collapse all condenses the outline to the main topics that correspond to the tabs near the top of the interview. Click the arrow to the left of the topic to expand just that section.
  • Main topics outlines all the subtabs below each main tab.
  • Expand all displays all the topics, subtopics, and section screens.

Another way to get around in the program is to click SEARCH (upper-right corner) to open the TurboTax Help popup where you can enter your topic or keyword, for example W-2 or child tax credit and search for it. Then click the resulting "jump-to" link above the search results to go directly to that section in TurboTax.
