I have a home office that is 20 percent of the home. I installed new composite foam backed siding to the whole home for $36000. How do I deduct it.

You'd depreciate, not deduct. $27000 is added to cost basis of house $9000 is depreciable asset with same life as home office. Sorry, can't multiply. $7,200 is the depreciable asset with the remainder added to house cost basis.
