You can't trade one cryptocurrency for another cryptocurrency. It is treated as an investment sale. You have to report the gain/loss of the bitcoin sold. See the following: https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/6468764

I just found the E*trade supplemental info with the adjusted cost basis for my 2023 vested RSUs. Should I amend my 2023 return to fix the cost basis ($0) that I reported?
