You can deduct out of pocket expenses, including mileage, travel and supplies, when you provide service to a charity or other organization recognized as tax exempt by the IRS.  You can look up the organization here. If it's not listed, its not deductible.  https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/exempt-organizations-select-check

You will also generally need a written acknowledgement of your service from the charity.

You can deduct a uniform only if it is unique to the point of not bearing wearable anywhere else.  (Such as, if you wear a marshall shirt but your own khaki golf pants and shoes, you can only deduct the shirt.)  You can deduct travel only when charitable service is the main and most significant purpose of the travel, you can't convert a personal vacation into deductible charitable service with a few hours token service.  See IRS publication 526 for more https://www.irs.gov/uac/about-publication-526
