Our Washington state sales tax deduction comes in at $1,721 but we bought an EV this year and the sales tax is $5,356. Can we claim the larger amount?

Our sales tax rate is 9% and TT calculated our deduction at $1,721.   We have already included our EV for the $7,500 deduction.

Yes, you can. When you enter the sales tax, you can enter a major purchase. It can add your $1721 plus $5356.
