Are property taxes still deductible?

Yes, you can deduct all property tax paid on property you own in the year paid.

However, to benefit from a property tax deduction, you must itemize your deductions.

Unless you have enough itemized deductions (ie. Medical mortgage interest, property taxes, charitable giving, ect) to exceed your Standard Deduction, you will not be able to benefit from this expense.

To enter a property tax deduction, follow te below sequence:

Federal Taxes>Deductions &Credits> Your Home>Property Taxes
