I sold my house of 34 years in 2017 will the turbo tax "Home and Business" version be able to allow me to submit the necessary information for my federal and state taxes?

Yes, the version you are in will be able to report the sale of the house.

Go to the Personal Income tab

click on "I'll chose what I work on"

then all the way to bottom of income sections to Less Common Income

Sale of Home is 3rd one from bottom.  

click Start.
