I go with software bug preventing real estate tax entry as other taxes well below $5000

Yes but well below $5000 allowed.

Can I deduct real estate taxes up to $5000 for primary residence.
Exchange asks if other taxes entered and prompting asked for sales and other taxes which totaled $1009 well short of $5000.
