Yes. According to the IRS, you will be able to claim business deductions (including any business deductions related to being a musician) that are considered both "ordinary" and "necessary".

Yes. According to the IRS, you will be able to claim business deductions (including any business deductions related to being a musician) that are considered both "ordinary" and "necessary".

OK, Great. I am specifically interested in publishing administration because there is only a $100 to sign up, however, their fee is a 15% commision. is that still a write-off?

Yes, you can include the commission fee as a business expense as part of either your management fees or as a miscellaneous business expenses titled "commission fees".
