You can try deleting your mortgage interest and re-entering to clear the error:

• Click on Tax Tools menu on the left
• Click on Tools
• Choose Delete a Form
• Scroll through your forms until you find Form 1098 and Home Mortgage Interest Worksheet
• Click Delete

Once you have deleted the forms, return to the Deductions & Credits and enter your deductions. 

If the error is related to a California state return, please check on February 6 for the anticipated fix.
