wisconsin disabled veteran property tax

The Wisconsin state disabled veteran property tax allowance is not handled properly within turbotax and I get penalties and interest each year. Is there any human to address this to get fixed??

Let me tell you how to get the Veteran credit problem solved. I am human!

1. Open your return to the state
2. Go through to the credits section 
3. Locate school property tax credit and zero it out or blank it out, depending on the program.

You can not claim both credits on your return. The veteran credits covers 100% of property tax paid on your main home plus one acre.

Thank you Amy,  that is good but does not address more than one acre.  I have a little over 4 acres but turbotax does not address an appropriate formula so I get penalized each year plus interest for taking the deduction.  I suggest another line question in TT.  Surely, I am not the only disabled vet in Wisconsin who owns over 1 acre.

You are smart. I bet you can:

1. separate the value of the house
2. take the 4 acres and divide by 4 to get the value of one acre
3. add the one acre and the house together for your input value

The main thing is to not take the full amount since the state knows it is 4 acres. It needs to be something reasonable less than the full amount.

Understood Amy.  I can do it manually and 4.0 acres would be semi easy but it is about 4.37 acres which I would think that Turbotax could put in their formulas.  After all, Isn't that why we invest in a calculating program?
