Wife has home office. paid property tax entered it. it ask if i paid tax and the total amount paid. it then shows i get a deduction of double my taxes is this correct ?

You have double-claimed your property taxes and this is not correct.
If you claim a home office deduction, then you should pro-rate your property taxes between the home office and the rest of your home (based for example on square footage). The portion related to the home office is claimed in the home office section. The balance is claimed as an itemized deduction under Deductions and Credits.
