Why would I not want to claim the earned income credit? I’m disabled and on SSDI, but did work a bit and am under the earned income amount

If you are eligible for earned income credit it is added to line 27 of your Form 1040 automatically.

You  do want to claim the credit. I am sure you know how much you can earn without endangering your SSDI. You don't want to overinflate additional income and endanger your SSDI.

Some people have been known to add extra babysitting income or other income to inflate the EIC and then end up with SSDI issues.

In addition to the EITC, there is another credit for disabled/ elderly - sch R. You may qualify for that credit as well. If you selected disabled, the program should be calculating the credit for you. You can see disabled credit on Sch 3, line 6d.
