Why isn't the mortgage interest I entered in the "you home" section of deductions being included in the total itemized deductions section?

The mortgage interest amount simply is not included in the total deductions.  It show -0-.

Within the questions for your Mortgage Interest entry, did you indicate that your home wasn't secured by a property of yours? Answering No to this question would make your interest not-deductible and result in a 0 on Line 8a of your Schedule A
