There are a number of conditions that you have to meet in order to qualify for the child and dependent care credit. Just paying for daycare is not sufficient. There are many questions in the dependent care interview, and it's easy to give an answer that disallows the credit.

Instead of us asking a lot of questions, why don't you use the IRS Interactive Assistant, where you can enter your particular data to see if you qualify for the credit and for how much.

The child care credit form 2441 is not fully refundable like in 2021... it is limited to your tax liability.
