The way HSA contributions work is this:
When the HSA contributions comes through your employer (code W in box 12 of your W-2), whether made by you through payroll deduction or your employer, the code W amount is removed from Wages in boxes 1, 3, and 5 on your W-2 before the W-2 is even printed. This is why you don't see a "deduction" on your return - the HSA contribution was never in your income in the first place.
If you make a direct contribution to your HSA (i.e., not through your employer), then this amount is reported as an adjustment to gross income (i.e., a deduction) on line 25 on Schedule 1 (Form 1040).
So either you contributed to your HSA in a different way this year than last year, or your prior return was not completed correctly.
