Why didnt I get eic for past three years? I got it this year and my income has not changed?

my return doubled this year from past 3 yrs. why didnt I get eic in the past? my income didnt change.

How old are you?  There used to be an age limit.  But this year you can get it at 19 without having a child and there is no max age.

Did your filing status change?  You cannot get EIC if you file married filing separately

The age limit change is just for 2021.  For 2022, it goes back to the old rules, unless congress extends the new rules.
