Why can't input dollar value?

we can not input 20.000 into the field for "Income from foreign sources plus canadian sourced part 8 income , for the part of the year when you were not a resident of Canada?" The system says " please enter a dollar value in the format of 9999.99 . We only type 20000 without dot or comma but it does not work.
