Why can't a user select the Standard Deduction before going through all the Schedule A deductions when they know there will not be enough?

I don't even enter my deductions since I know the Standard Deduction is more.  You don't have to enter them.  Just say no or skip each one or hit continue.

TurboTax automatically chooses the federal deduction that gives you the lowest taxes, but you can override this selection at any time.

To switch to the standard deduction:

1. Log into your account and continue (if not already there).
2. In the Search box (top right-hand corner), type “standard deduction and exemptions”.
3. Click on the Magnifying Glass icon.
4. Click on “Jump to standard deduction and exemptions” link high-lighted in Blue.
