You're not. It has to ask everyone if you got any Advance Child Tax Credit payments in case you are not claiming a child this year and might need to pay it back.
If you are referring to Schedule 8812 -
Everyone is being asked this question since TurboTax does not know if the user was one who received these advances from the IRS in 2021.
Enter a 0 (zero) when asked to enter a number on the Schedule 8812. This will correct the issue and remove the Schedule 8812 from your tax return so that you can file the return.
If you are not claiming a child as a dependent on your 2021 tax return then you are not receiving the Child Tax Credit.
Look at your tax return Form 1040 Line 28. Is there an amount entered? If not then there is no child tax credit on your tax return.
You can view your Form 1040 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
