While my depends qualify for the child and dependent care tax credit in 2022, I did not pay for care. How can I remove this credit from my return?

I believe there is a glitch in the tool.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for deleting a Form 2441 when using the online editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/small-business-processes/delete-form-244...

Thank you. I've tried this full set of steps and it's not removing the Dependent Care Credit tax break line item and its not actually deleting form 2441 even though it says it is.

Do you have an amount in box 10 of your W-2 showing that your employer paid you dependent care benefits?

That is why Form 2441 is being completed by the software.  Those are benefits paid to you or incurred by your employer on your behalf and are being reported on the Form 2441.

The unused benefits in box 10 need to be entered on the form 2441so that amount can be added back into line 1 of the form 1040 as forfeited.  That is why the form 2441 is being employed.
