Which TurboTax desktop software version must I use to report the sale of a vacation home?

Any of the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions can be used to report the sale of second/vacation home. It is entered in the Investment sale section of the program.

All the desktop editions include the same forms, schedules and worksheets. You get more help and guidance with the higher editions.

I entered a 1099-C but TurboTax is assuming it was for a secured debt but it was for an unsecured debt. The software automatically makes it a property.
