I wish to enter my county property tax of $6.3k which is more than the $5.5K standard deduction.
I took the standard deduction on the Federal return.
I do not see the wizard's entry point to itemize on the State Return.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You still enter deductions on the federal side. Then it will flow to state.

The short of this is that filing jointly I looked at form OR-40 box 17 where we had properly check both of us as being over 65. In this case Turbotax had properly added $2K to the standard $5.5K and put $7,495 in box 17. Our particular county property tax payment was more than $5.5K but less than $7.5K so of course we will take the standard deduction for Oregon. We took the standard deduction, which is much larger, on the Federal return so we were never asked about property tax.
top menu View/Forms Oregon Info_worksheet Part_II "Form40: Resident Tax Return" --> QuickZoom
on OR-40 line 17
