It depends whether or not you have a full-fledged home office or are just taking office expenses. The home office takes a space in your home and gives you a deduction for electricity, insurance and other things. It has to be used "regularly and exclusively" for work.

You can take expenses for office supplies and other office expenses, even furniture and computers without having the office.
