Where do i deduuct prepaid property taxes

You can deduct all property tax you paid on all property you own in the year paid as long as you only use the property for personal use, and also itemize your deductions.

  • Sign into your return, and select the 'take me to my return' button
  • Type 'real estate taxes' in the search box, then select the 'jump to' link.

Property taxes paid at closing are also deducted in this section (but not escrow accounts). Property taxes paid on rental or business property are deducted in the rental/business sections in their own categories.
