Where do i deduct use tax imposed on me

I bought a couple of ATV's this last year and when I registered them they imposed a use tax on me. From my understanding this is a type of sales tax for private sales collected by departments such as the DMV here in Washington state.

You can elect to deduct state and local general sales taxes (including use tax) instead of state and local income taxes as an itemized deduction on Schedule A. You cannot deduct both.

Generally speaking, income taxes will be more than sales or local taxes. Enter the information into TurboTax to compare:

Go to Search (top right), then type the exact phrase 'use tax' into Ask your question or search TurboTax. Jump to use tax.
