Where can I select to add the child tax credit for the $2000? I saw it at one time and I cant find where to file for the child tax credit.

I feel like after adding my child my refund didnt add the full amount for the child tax credit. I want to make sure its is correct before i submit my refund.

If you added a child under the age of 17 as a dependent and entered your W-2 or self employment income, the child tax credit was added automatically.

Look at your 2023 Form 1040 to see the child-related credits you received

You do not select the Child Tax credit (CTC). If you are entitled to it,  TurboTax (TT) will automatically give it to you.

If you think TT missed it (unlikely),

In TurboTax (TT), enter at:

Federal Taxes Tab (Personal for H&B version)

Deductions & Credits
