Do an internet search for your county's property appraiser and review the information on that web site.

You should get an exemption on the first $25,000 of tangible personal property used in your business.

Any of the following who own Florida Tangible personal property (TPP) on January 1 must file a TPP return with the county property appraiser by April 1 each year.

  • Anyone who o Has a proprietorship,
  • Has a partnership,

  • Leases, lends, or rents property.

The TPP is all goods, property other than real estate, and other articles of value that the owner can physically possess and has intrinsic value. Inventory, household goods, and some vehicular items are excluded.

If you file your TPP return by April 1, you will be eligible for a property tax exemption of up to $25,000 of assessed value.

Below is the link to the list of county property appraiser's web sites.

Check your county's site first as there are slight variations between counties.
