I just got email notifying me that ItsDeductible was being discontinued as of October 21, 2025 (less than 2 mo away).
I logged into ItsDeductible on the web and the page is still saying "get started with ItsDeductible"!!!)
I called, and confirmed that it is being discontinued, but THIS IS VERY POORLY DONE.
1) after going thru this 3-4 years ago, and then updating the web interface and the app, no explanation for why they are discontinuing it again.
2) Poor planning to :
a) give such short notice
b) have emails saying it will be discontinued, but no banner on the web page version OR the mobile app to let one know.
c) why discontinue in Mid- October, rather than announce now that it would be discontinued after tax filing deadline for this tax year?
d) the Export CSV's only have options to export the donations, BUT NOT EXPORT THE CHARITIES AS WELL!!.
While I think this is a quite valuable little app, that makes recording deductions/donations very easy, I understand that the business value to keep supporting it may not be there (especially with the larger standard deduction, less people may be needing to record deductions), HOWEVER, this short notice, and poor timing, AND not supporting exporting the linked charities as well is at best annoying, and could motivate one to switch to other tax software.

I agree with ASRogers in his/her posting objecting to the demise of ItsDeductible after this October 21. ItsDeductible is one of the primary reasons why I am a TurboTax customer. The valuation of donated items that the app supplies is very difficult, if not impossible to find anywhere else that's authoritative. And the elimination of the app is being handled very poorly. The email announcing the demise does not supply the reasons why or an Intuit contact for further explanation. The passage of Trump's budget bill means that upper limit on itemized deductions has been extended to $40K, so more people are likely to itemize for tax year 2025 and use ItsDeductible. There needs to be a full explanation for why Intuit is discontinuing ItsDeductible, and I have written to the Office of the President urging this. I encourage others to complain as well by filing out an escalation form at https://www.intuit.com/company/contact/office-of-the-president/?cid=executives_intuit_click_us_oop-f... Note: You will have to check "yes" to the question about having previously contacted Customer Support in order to send the complaint, which I think is fine since there is no option in the Customer Support phone number menu to talk to anyone about ItsDeductible. If the Intuit management refuses to re-consider eliminating ItsDeductible, they should at least postpone its demise until after the tax filing deadline for the 2025 tax year, as ASRogers points out.
It’s deductible is the reason I have remained a customer of TurboTax. Their discontinuation of that feature, particularly in the absolutely poor way they are doing so, means I will be canceling my TurboTax advantage, and looking elsewhere for tax preparation software. it was the feature that kept me returning year after year
I agree with all the above, especially discontinuing the feature before the end of the tax year. What gives? Poor support to your customers, continuing through the end of the year cannot be that hard.
After repeated missteps in communication, Intuit’s decision to abruptly decommission ItsDeductible has left many of us stunned and disheartened. Receiving a generic card in the mail and an impersonal email survey felt like a hollow gesture—an attempt at sympathy without substance, especially given the gravity of what was being taken away.
Frankly, I’m beyond disappointed. There was no meaningful follow-through on Intuit’s stated intent to make things right. Instead of offering a bridge to the 2025 tax year, the app was shut down prematurely—catching users off guard who, based on multiple sources, believed they had until midnight tonight to export their data. The cutoff being yesterday only adds to the confusion and frustration.
It’s hard to imagine this wasn’t a deliberate decision, and if so, it reflects a troubling disregard for long-time customers who relied on this tool year after year. The silence from “The Office of the President” and the ItsDeductible Decision Team is deafening.
TurboTax, do the right thing. Speak to this community. If the decision is final, so be it—but communicate it clearly, respectfully, and with accountability. Many of us are still holding out hope that Intuit will choose to honor its legacy and its users, even if we are now a dwindling few.
Enough is enough. Poor planning, barely any notice. I'm leaving TurboTax/Intuit for HR Block. Treat your customers better!
I am going to do the same. It's worse for me, as I've logged in for the first time since the spring only to learn the ItsDeductible product has been discontinued. OK, that's a bummer. However, it appears my data is also gone. I can access prior tax returns but not my It's Deductible data??? Please tell me there is still a way to access hours of data entered into ItsDeductible!
I believe the notice they emailed said the deadline was October 21 to retrieve any data. I went online and exported several years of data.
