You may be able to receive a deduction for the sales tax you paid with your purchase of a new car. If you also paid personal property taxes on the vehicle, you may report those as well.

Both these tax breaks are Itemized Deductions, found under Federal Taxes >>Deductions & Credits.

The easiest way to find any section of TurboTax is to use the Search box at the top right side of the TurboTax header. Click on the magnifying glass, type in the topic you need, hit Enter, and click the "jump to" link to go directly to beginning of that topic.

Or go to My Account >> Tools >> Topic Search. Type in your topic, then click the topic in the list to go directly to the start of that section.

For the vehicle-related deductions, search on "sales tax" and "personal property taxes." Under Sales Tax, enter your vehicle as a Major Purchase.
