We relocated for work (nonmilitary) on 9/2017, we could not claim this on our 2017 taxes as the length of time was not long enough. How can I claim these moving expenses?

Moving expenses are not deductible since the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was passed in December 2017, except for military.

You could amend your prior year return to add the moving expenses you didn't claim when you originally filed.
