We file an injured spouse. I was hoping our child credit would not be applied to my debt and would be part of the portion my husband got back. Did I file the form incorrectly?

Looks like they took the entire return when in the past they only took a small portion.

First, the Child Tax Credit is part of the overall calculation. When the IRS determines the part of the refund to return, it looks at the overall amount.

Are you in a Community Property State? Did you file Injured Spouse AFTER filing the tax return? You may need to talk to the IRS.
