Was the executor of estate how to file k-1

To input a K-1:

  1. Go to Your 2016 Income Summary.

  2. Go to Business Investment and Estate/Trust Income.

  3. Click Start or Update by Schedule K-1

  4. Select Start or Update by Estates or Trusts (Form 1041).

  5. Fill out the K-1 EXACTLY as it is on paper.

It goes on page two of your Schedule E, and on line 17 of Form 1040.

To check:

1.       Go to My Account.

2.       Go to Tools.

3.       Go to View Tax Summary.

4.       Go to Preview my 1040.

Your estate income will show on line 17 of Form 1040.
