W2 shows hsa contribution, but hsa section doesn’t show the figure?

Just to be clear, you are saying that there is a code W in box 12 on your W-2 with a dollar amount that represents the amount of payroll deductions contributions to your HSA?

In the HSA interview, on the screen "Let's enter [name]'s HSA contributions, this same code W amount will appear on the first line. Note that you cannot enter or change the amount on this screen, but it must be done on the W-2.

Also, did you correctly identify the W-2 as to belonging to you (as opposed to your spouse)?

The screen that says “Let's enter [name]'s HSA contributions, there is no W shown. There are only two boxes, one for payroll contribution and another for personal contribution. The payroll contribution box has no dollar amount.

And yes, the code W I’m referring to is the payroll deduction on my w2 form.

W2 shows hsa contribution, but hsa section doesn’t show the figure?

In ten years, this is the first time I have seen the box 12, code W amount fail to transfer to the "Let's enter [name]'s HSA contributions" screen. Really.

Let's do this:

1. Confirm that the W-2 in question is set to the correct spouse (i.e., that when you entered the W-2 that you set to to be yours and not your spouse's.

2. Confirm that the "Let's enter [name]'s HSA contributions" screen has your name and not your spouse's.

3. If neither above address the situation, then delete your W-2 and re-add it.

To delete your W-2, do the following:

*** Desktop/Windows***

1. go to View (at the top), choose Forms, and

2. select the desired form (W-2).

Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the screen.

*** Online ***

1. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form

2. delete form(s) W-2

If you are using Desktop/Mac and don't see where to delete a form, please come back and ask.
