I filed my taxes May 20th before I put in unemployment I was getting back almost 600 after the unemployment it went down to 163 why is this? I'm being told by people from my unemployment group I should be getting back at least a thousand for a single filer due to this unemployment credit. Does someome know if this is supposed to increase my refund and if so how do i get it since TurboTax program screwed me over snd didn't do it right. I purposely waited to do the taxes because I heard about the credit.

The exclusion is reported on Schedule 1 Line 8 as a negative number. The unemployment compensation received is on Line 7 of Schedule 1. The result flows to Form 1040 Line 8.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2020 online tax return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
No one can tell you what you will get back based off a general assumption. They don't know how or if the reduction in income affected other things like refundable credits. Review the return before and after the unemployment entry to see exactly what did change.
