I am unable to sort “Your charities and donations” in alphabetical order like we used to be able to do. This makes it harder (more time consuming) for one to enter the charitable donations information when one has organized their files in alphabetic order.
Based on a 2021 post, the feature apparently did not exist for 2020 returns, but for the last several years, TurboTax desktop has allowed one to at least sort the list into alphabetic order each time one went to the list. For the 2025 version, this feature appears to be gone.
Very disappointing!

Currently there is no built-in feature to automatically alphabetize a list of charities in TurboTax Online or within the "Step-by-Step" interview mode of TurboTax Desktop.
In TurboTax Desktop 2025, there is a technical workaround using Forms Mode to sort your data.
Here's how:
Thank you Catina
It's odd that while (1) 2024 TurboTax Desktop had a an ability to alphabetize a list of charities within the "Step-by-Step" interview (by clicking on the top of the list each time), and while (2) in 2025 TurboTax , the charities listed in the Forms view ARE in alphabetical order, yet the charities list in the Step-by-Step view are not.
I am unable to make the instructions you provided work (I have TurboTax Premium). While I can open the Forms view, I do not see a Schedule A Worksheet. I do see Schedule A, but I am unable to get a table to open.
If I go to item 11 in the worksheet (gifts by cash or check) and click the total, a table does not open. Instead, an add charitable organization window opens, where I can add or select an existing one, but I cannot edit or sort.
I'm also noting that given in 2025 TurboTax Desktop , in Forms view, the charities are in alphabetical order, so I thought that can be a nice workaround to doing things in alphabetical order. However, if in the form I enter the amounts and even review and answer all the Yes No questions and save, if I go back to the Step-by-Step view list, it still shows the charity I just entered data for as Needs Review. This is not that helpful to keep track of what is done and what still needs to be done. And when I do an edit in Step-by-Step to clear the Review needed, it does not show the total dollar amount I entered on the form, so I have to redo that.
and unable to search either (like ctrl-f), so it appears I have to either do a lot of scrolling and reading the last year's list to find the charity, or use the last year's list as it appears and then sort through my files to find each chartity's records I have. :(

This forms sort doesn't work on my list/desktop version. Quicken Premier. Every version of the various worksheets and/or forms where charitable deductions list shows up, pre entered, only returns a partial list and the Edit/Sort remains greyed out, thus inoperative. This lack of sort has been a standing problem for 20 years. Was getting close in the past couple of years with a clunky solution where the list in the interview could be sorted but only after each entry, to re-alphabetize the list per no 'save' for a once alphabetized list. Reverts back to the original entry order that has accumulated over years. This year, 2025, the 'solution' has taken a step backwards...WUWT Intuit?!!! This is simple database code...Hire a teenager to program rather than one of those DOGE refugees....oh yeah, those were mostly teenagers. Never mind.
