TurboTax Desktop, in the Step by Step view, used to let one right click in the charitable deductions total cash, checks, card payments, and payroll deduction field to bring up a table to enter more detailed contributions data in a list. It would sum the list and enter the total in the main field.
In the 2025 version, I am unable to do this. So, when I had a list of five different contributions by date, for 2025, I had to go to a separate Excel spreadsheet to do that work.
If I go to the forms version, I can do this, but then the total did not carry over to the Step by Step, so I had to enter it again.
Can someone can give directions or troubleshooting?

I'm trying to figure this out for you. I have Windows Home & Business. How did you get it to work in Forms mode? I've opened Schedule A, Charity Contrib, and Cash Contrib worksheets. I can't find a table to sort. And the Edit - Sort Table is greyed out everywhere.
I was going to post a link to that other thread but see you already posted on it.
Sorry for the delay -
In the desktop version, in the Forms view, in the "Detail of Money Donations Worksheet" for any charity (Charitable Org), I am able to either right mouse click in a cell in the "2025 Amount" column, or hit the + symbol to the left of a cell. That brings up the "Supporting Details" sheet (table).
But again, if I entered any data in the "2025 Amount" column, when I went back to Step-by-Step, that amount or total did not carry over to the total dollars field , so I had to reenter it.
The instructions in the link below will provide details to enter your charitable donations in TurboTax.
The value of clothing, books, etc. can be found using various methods. For examples see the links below for a guide to assist.
Any reasonable method will be appropriate, just keep the details with your tax records should you need it later.
Thank you DianeW.
My issue is a software usability issue on how to enter data and how for TurboTax 2024 it was easier as well as an issue on data entered in forms not showing in Step by Step view.
